This week’s KleinLiving Hot Spot is “Via Emilia – The Woodlands”. It’s an Italian restaurant; located on Kuykendahl in The Woodlands.
I was introduced to “Via Emilia” many years ago, at their original location on Cypress Creek Parkway. After 11 years, they moved to their current location in The Woodlands, where they serve Northern Italian cuisine including house-made pasta, braised meats, fresh seafood, and delicious desserts in a fine dining experience.
My family and I went for a special dinner a couple of weeks ago and we truly enjoyed their authentic Italian food, their beautiful restaurant, the excellent service, and the ambiance that includes live piano music.
Last week, we ordered for appetizer: “Pere E Gorgonzola” and “Burrata E Prosciutto”. And for entree:”Braised Beef Short Rib”, “Pollo al Limone”, and “Ravioli di Formaggio”
Contrasting flavors made appetizers very enjoyable. The creamy burrata paired perfectly with the powerful taste of prosciutto and balsamic glaze. The sweetness of pears combined perfectly with gorgonzola cheese. Both appetizers were great and the pears was my favorite.
We had to have their house-made pasta, and the Ravioli di Formaggio hit the spot, with a creamy tomato sauce that had a mild yet engaging flavor. The Pollo al Limone was moist and the accompanying mushrooms were a nice detail. But definitely our favorite was the Braised Beef Short Rib, where the meat fell off the bone and melted in the mouth, complemented with red wine reduction and a creative crisp topping made out of leeks.
The perfect finish to a delicious meal was to share an Amaretto Tres Leche.
