HOT SPOT OF THE WEEK! Peli Peli

This week KleinLiving Hot Spot of the Week is “Peli Peli at The Woodlands”. It’s a culinary adventure through South African food; located on the Woodlands waterway. There are three Peli Peli restaurants in the greater Houston area, this blog is about their newest location at The Woodlands. I’ve been to their location at Vintage Park and I love their food. The Woodlands locations open recently. Last week, we went to the Woodlands shopping mall and after our shopping was done, we were looking for a place to have lunch and came across Peli Peli and decided to stop by and explore. I love this place so much because it has a very unique decoration, the ambiance is casual and they have very colorful designs throughout the restaurant. Their food is delicious and their flavors a very different yet fulfilling. We ordered “Roasted Carrot Ginger Soup”, “Ribeye Trinchado”, “Calamari, Chourico and Olives” and “Mac N Cheese” The carrot soup was warm and hearty, perfect for cool days. The ribeye on the “Trinchado” was tender and the wine sauce reduction was so delicious that I could not stop until I finish it with the bread. The Calamari dish was a creative combination of seafood and chorizo with a tangy sauce; having the bread to dip in the sauce was spot on. Everyone was very welcoming with a very unique decoration. Not only the staff was friendly, but they were also visibly proud of the restaurant. I especially like the Mandela portrait. Please share this blog, so more people can support this local business. At this time, they are open and taking to-go orders. If you haven’t been to “Peli Peli South African Kitchen” go for lunch or diner and enjoy their good food while supporting a local business.
